So, I was in NJ this weekend visiting my cousins. Marc was eager for some extra hours of sleep on Saturday. Of course, the Marcell was scratching at the door. When Marc finally opened the door at 10:45, he saw a snowstorm of tissues all over the apartment. Marcelle had gotten bored of scratching and decided that he would pull out every single tissue out of the box and spread them all over (including in his water bowl). Marc realized that all they both wanted was some food....so feed your cats before you go to bed or else be prepared for a snowstorm.
I wish he had taken a picture, but you can picture that in your mind.

All Gone!
Thinking that I needed a change and cut all my hair off. I told Marc I was going grocery shopping (which I did do after), but I stopped by my hair salon. The woman (Treasure...thats her stage name....yeah only in NYC can you have hair dressers that have stage names) who cuts my hair actually had an opening and was very excited to cut off and style my hair. When I came home, Marc was very surprised and said.."Umm..Wow..that is short". He likes it though and it will take some getting used to.
Thanksgiving
Every year at Thanksgiving, my family makes sangria. This year, to be sure that we had enough, my mom made 3 gallons, thinking we would have some left over. She was wrong, with 12 people all drinking it and more drinking it after dinner...there was nothing left but fruit. So, needless to say everyone had a great time and my mom didn't even burn the turkey, although Marc would have enjoyed the smoke detector being set off.

My cute little furry children
PJ Party

On Friday, it was pajama day at school. We all got to wear our pj's, which was a lot of fun. The kids thought it was really funny to see their teachers in flannel pj's. We all watched Charlotte's Web in the afternoon, since we just finished the book. I love watching movies...the kids are quiet and I get work done...its a win, win.

Here is Jesus looking smart in his new glasses.

Go Rangers!!
The great thing about NYC is that you could be hanging out in your small apartment at one moment and at Madison Square Garden watching the Rangers another moment. It was such an awesome game, we were down by 2 and then at the end of the third period...BAM!! They score twice and we go into overtime, winning in a shoot out. So EXC
ITING!!
Henrik is soooo good!
Common Planning
So, every week all the second grade teachers get together to plan upcoming units. This week we decided to spice it up with some food and drinks. We brought it bread, crackers, cheese, grapes, popcorn and of course sparkling apple juice that was drank out of plastic wine glasses. Here is a picture of Pam and I (we both teach in the same classroom).

Halloween at School

At our school, we don't celebrate Halloween, instead we have a character day. The classes are supposed to dress up as a character from a book. Instead of being a character from a book, we were rock stars, since we were studying rocks in science. Pretty clever, right? We made paper mohawks, wore sunglasses, and wore a sign to indicate what rock group they were in.

A Trip to Washington

Although this isn't NYC, we still had an adventure, a wet adventure in Washington D.C. with our good friends Erin and Brian. We walked to see the Capital (not raining) and then later on in the day we walked to see the White House and the Washington Monument (POURING). It was at the Washington Monument, were Erin realized that we could see all four major monuments from that one spot and we should have walked there first. It was pretty funny, we were all soaked up to our jean pockets, which were later all hanging in the bathroom. Next time we go on a trip, both Marc and I will pack two pairs of pants and shoes, just in case we get caught outside in the rain.

A Day at the Farm

Yes, there is a farm in the city! It is in Queens and it is set up perfectly for a lot of children. We all picked out pumkins, took a tractor ride, pony ride, and got our hands dirty with alot of animals. Pam (the teacher I teach with) didn't want to hold the crazy looking rooster bird, but I was all over any animal I could get my hands on.
Field Trip to the Top of the Rock

Although I have many pictures to share about our school field trips, I will just start with the most recent ones. In second grade, they are learning about NYC and so what better way to see the city than from up high. We went to Rockefeller Center and went all the way to the top. It was a little crazy for the teachers, but the kids sure loved it!
